Can I earn money by getting a job?

Federal law permits students with F-1 and J-1 status to work on campus up to 20 hours during the semester and full-time during breaks and holidays.  Unfortunately, on-campus work will not cover the total cost of tuition or living expenses, but many international students use their on-campus work to pay some of their expenses.  International students may also take advantage of opportunities to gain professional experience – both paid or un-paid – related to their studies.  The Office of International Education provides guidance to international students studying at Marquette University, including information related to on and off-campus employment.
