Writing an Academic Resume

A resume is a short summary of your personal and professional milestones. The content for your resume comes from your portfolio collection, and is designed for the specific program to which you will send it. Your resume should clearly and concisely define your skills and interests. A few points that you may want to include in your resume:

• Contact information: name, address, email, phone

• Professional Career Objectives

• Educational background and degrees conferred

• Pertinent internships and employment history

• Honors and achievements

• (Sometimes) Skills relevant to the program for which you are applying

• Information demonstrating your personality and non-academic achievements and hobbies
