Look and Learn:
The Haggerty as Classroom

The Haggerty Museum of Art is a teaching and learning resource for faculty, students, teachers and the community at large. Our permanent collection and exhibitions serve as a foundation for object-based learning. As an experiential classroom, the Haggerty uses images and art objects as source material: Visual art acts as a powerful and stimulating tool for learning and compels viewers to look closely, question and interpret what they see, and consider a variety of concepts and issues in the process. It is in this way that the museum provides a platform for interdisciplinary engagement with the arts and promotes visual literacy and critical thinking.

We encourage you to explore the educational activities and opportunities outlined in the tabs below. There you will find additional information and resources to help you learn by looking at art.
