This exhibition presented the work of Virginia Lee Burton, distinguished illustrator and winner of the Caldecott Medal. Burton's designs of the late 1930s and early 40s for such books as  Mike Mulligan and His Steam Shovel (1939) were presented in conjunction with Marquette University's School of Education children's literature conference.  The exhibition coincided with the publication of Barbara Elleman's book Virginia Lee Burton: A Life in Art published by Houghton Mifflin.
