This exhibition catalogue features the ink paintings of famed Chinese artist and Nobel Prize Laureate Gao Xingjian. Work featured in the catalogue was produced between 1983 and 1993 and comes from the Morat-Institut für Kunst und Kunstwissenschaft, Freiburg. The catalogue includes an essay about the artist, The China of Gao Xingjian by Daniel Meissner, an interview with Gao, and his Thoughts on Painting. Gao's biography, his exhibition history and an extensive bibliography of his writings are also included.
