Relationship Violence

Take an Active Role

There are many opportunities for you to join the fight against sexual violence, both on Marquette's campus and in the larger community. Some of the opportunities available include:

Become a Volunteer
Many community agencies, such as the Delphi House, provide shelter and support to victims of relationship violence. Contact (center for community service?)... for more information about how to get involved.

Host a PPA workshop on Sexual Violence
Maybe you belong to a sorority or fraternity and think your members could benefit from a presentation by the PPAs. Or your residence hall floor. Or your student organization. Or one of your classes. PPAs are trained students that work with staff from the Counseling Center to create interactive and educational programs on a number of topics. Visit the Counseling Center web page or call the office at 288-7172 to learn more.

Participate in Sexual Violence Awareness Week
Held the third week in September each year, the goal of Sexual Violence Awareness Week is to educate the campus community about issues surrounding sexual violence. Events include major speakers, interactive workshops and the annual Take Back the Night rally and march held collaboratively with the Milwaukee community. To learn more, contact one of the co-coordinators of the week's events: Chris Daood of the Counseling Center or Amy Melichar of the Center for Health Education and Promotion.
