Getting Help

If you are a victim of relationship violence, please know that it is not your fault. You are not alone. Through a coordinated effort throughout Marquette and the Milwaukee community, there are many resources available for support. Marquette University and its community partners are committed to providing a safe and responsive environment. We are here to help.

Where to Go
There are many people on Marquette's campus that are able to help you or a friend. Below are some of the options that are available:

Public Safety

The Department of Public Safety has a number of caring and supportive officers who are able to help you or someone you know. Female officers with special training are available. The staff are well connected to both campus and community resources and can provide escort services to any of those resources. It is important to note that reporting your assault to Public Safety does not mean that you will be required to file charges or pursue further legal action. Reporting to Public Safety only ensures that you have opportunity to explore those options further in the future if you wish.

The staff at the Counseling Center can provide you with counseling support or crisis intervention services. Staff are available 8:30 - 4:30 Monday through Friday or after hours by calling Public Safety (288-1911) and asking for the on-call counselor. All contacts with the Counseling Center are confidential.
