About Accessing Multimedia Files

Latest version of QuickTime required
For audio and video files, you will need to download and install the latest version of QuickTime 6, a free media player.

Download QuickTime 6 | Help Installing or Using QuickTime

Windows Users:
If you are unable to access the audio/video files, go to the Windows Control Panel. Open QuickTime Preferences. Select the Streaming Transport preference. Select Use HTTP, Port ID 80 (not UDP, RTSP etc. which is the install default). Close the QuickTime Preferences window and try to access the multimedia file again.

Multimedia and Texts

Multimedia files are available in three formats:
  • LOW SPEED/AUDIO ONLY — For users with dial-up connections to the Internet.
  • HIGH SPEED — For off-campus users with a high-speed connection at their institution, DSL or cable modem.
  • ULTRA SPEED — For users on Marquette's campus or institutions that are part of Internet2.
