
Laura Jordan was awarded an ASCP National Student Honor Award in recognition of outstanding academic and leadership achievement.
Bridget Nelson was chosen as a Wisconsin delegate to the ASCLS Legislative Symposium in Washington, D.C., March 21-22, 2011. She and several other Wisconsin laboratorians met with legislators to discuss issues of concern to the diagnostic laboratory profession.
Bridget Nelson was awarded a $1,000 travel grant to attend the July 2011 American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science Annual Meeting in Atlanta, GA. Bridget will present the results of her senior year research.
Clinical Laboratory Science seniors did Marquette proud at the Wisconsin Annual Meeting of the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science in April. Nearly 70 CLS students from Wisconsin universities presented scientific posters at this meeting, and Marquette seniors won 7 of the 12 awards:

Phyu Thwe won the Undergraduate Student Poster Competition at the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS) Annual Meeting, July 2010, Anaheim, CA. Her poster was titled, Analysis of PLD1 Activity and Biofilm Formation of Candida albicans in Respiratory Samples. Phyu also was one of 5 students nationally to win a Beckman Coulter Travel Grant to attend the meeting.
