Marquette Presents: Exercise as medicine to combat aging, disease
The College of Health Sciences' Marquette Presents continued its success with a forum on exercise, titled Exercise as Medicine, Part 1: Optimizing Health and Wellness. The forum was held at the Alumni Memorial Union on January 30th.
The expert panel, moderated by Dr. William Cullinan, dean of the College of Health Sciences, included:
- Dr. Marie Hoeger Bement, associate professor of physical therapy in the College of Health Sciences. Bementís research includes the effects of exercise on chronic pain perception.
- Dr. Sandra Hunter, associate professor of exercise science in the College of Health Sciences. Hunter studies neuromuscular function and fatigue, especially within the variables of stress, age and sex.
- Dr. Alexander Ng, associate professor of exercise science in the College of Health Sciences. Ngís work involves neuromuscular control in chronic disease states.
