Historian to deliver lecture on ancient armor

Historian Gregory Aldrete will speak on "Reconstructing Ancient Linen and Body Armor" at 5:00 PM on March 1, 2013, in the Beaumier Suites, Raynor Library.  Aldrete is Frankenthal Professor of History and Humanistic Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.  He is the co-author of the forthcoming book from Johns Hopkins University Press, Ancient Linen Body Armor: Unraveling the Linothorax Mystery, as well as Floods of the Tiber in Ancient Rome (2007), Gestures and Acclamations in Ancient Rome (1999), Daily Life in the Roman City: Rome, Pompeii and Ostia (2009), The Long Shadow of Antiquity: What Have the Greeks and Romans Done For Us? with Alicia Aldrete (2012), and The Greenwood Encyclopedia of Daily Life in the Ancient World (2004).
