Three Ph.D. students completed their degrees in 2011-12. They were:

Monica S. Gallamore, who completed a dissertation on “Introducing the Incomparable Hildegarde: The Sexuality, Style and Image of a Forgotten Culture Icon” under the direction of Thomas J. Jablonsky. Monica teaches classes at Oklahoma City University and other colleges in the Oklahoma City area. She is the History Section Coordinator for the Western Social Science Association.

John A. French, who completed his dissertation on “Irish-American Identity, Memory, and Americanism during the Eras of the Civil War and First World War” under the direction of James Marten. John is a faculty member at Prairie School, a private K-12 school in Racine, Wisconsin.

Adam Stueck, who finished “A Place Under Heaven: Amerindian Torture and Cultural Violence in Colonial New France, 1609-1730” under the direction of A. Kristen Foster. Adam is director of the De Pere Historical Society in De Pere, Wisconsin.
