On-Campus Resources for Graduate Students

The Graduate School provides information for prospective, new, and current students about financial aid, registration, graduation, and other factors of graduate student life. Nearly all necessary forms can found and/or processed through the Graduate School. You can contact The Graduate School at (414) 288-7137 or visit them at 1324 W. Wisconsin Ave., Room 305 (Holthusen Hall, 3rd Floor).

The Helfaer Tennis Stadium and Recreation Center offers tennis courts, cardio courts, racquetball courts, a 25-yard swimming pool, basketball courts, volleyball courts, outdoor sand volleyball courts, badminton courts, a Fitness Assessment Center, men’s and women’s locker rooms, group fitness room, and weight room.

The Rec Plex has a suspended jogging track, a 25-yard swimming pool, two gymnasiums, a group fitness/yoga room, a free weight room, a Fitness Center, men’s and women’s locker rooms, racquetball courts, squash court, golf practice area, and a Fitness Assessment Center

Marquette University offers many intramural sports from singles and doubles bag toss to inner-tube water polo.

Health Resources

The Student Health Service (SHS) On-Campus Clinic sees students by appointment only. Same-day appointments are usually available. To schedule an appointment, call (414) 288-7184. In addition to basic and emergency health services, the SHS offers men’s and women’s health services, including well woman exams and STD tests. It is important to note that the clinic cannot provide contraception or prescriptions for contraception for non-medical reasons. For these concerns, SHS provides off-campus information here.

The Counseling Center offers short-term developmental and clinical counseling, career counseling, and outreach services. The Center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. If you are in crisis outside normal business hours, contact the Department of Public Safety at (414) 288-6800 and ask them to speak to the on-call counselor.

Safety

The Department of Public Safety is dedicated to the safety of MU students. Public Safety Officers and University Services officers patrol the campus 24 hours a day. General Interest

Alumni Memorial Union (AMU) houses many resources for Marquette students, including a U.S. Bank, various food options, and the Spirit Shop. Union Station, located in the AMU basement, offers post office services and Milwaukee County Transit System ticket sales. Marquette Cards are also issued at Union Station.

Campus Ministry invites students of all faiths in their mission to “Find God in All Things.” Bible study and retreats are among the services offered.

The Haggerty Museum of Art, Marquette’s on-campus art museum, features multiple special exhibits each year as well as a permanent collection. Admission is free and the museum is open daily. Check their website for more information and current hours of operation.

The Union Sports Annex is Marquette’s sports bar/restaurant. It also offers activities and events, such as bowling, bingo, and trivia. Shuttles to and from Marquette Golden Eagle home basketball games (at the Bradley Center) are also available from the Annex.
