Our history graduate community is truly collaborative. Students regularly help one another with projects, whether that means something as simple as loaning a colleague a book, reading and critiquing a dissertation chapter, or giving teaching advice. The History Graduate Student Organization (HGSO) fosters this environment by bringing together scholars at both the M.A. and Ph.D. levels to ensure that all students have access to the support and information they need to be successful.
The HGSO holds regular meetings, hosts social activities, and coordinates orientations, professional development workshops, and meetings with visiting scholars. Officers act as liaisons between the graduate student community and the faculty, and represent that community's interests within the wider Graduate Student Organization (GSO) at Marquette.
