The honors program: WHERE ARE THEY NOW?

Natalie Campbell-Owen graduated from the University Honors Program with a B.A. in Secondary Education and Writing-Intensive English.  In summer 2011 Natalie was a recipient of an Honors Program summer research grant and a Women’s and Gender Studies fellowship, which funded her to travel to Uganda to examine prevalent educational theories in the classroom.  Through the Office of Residence Life at Marquette, Natalie served as an RA for Honors students.  Natalie is now working in El Salvador, evaluating study-abroad programs in universities and language schools and hosting international travel groups for the National Registration Center for Study Abroad.

Louise Gebel graduated from the University Honors Program in May 2009 with a B.A. in Journalism and Spanish. She now lives in Washington, DC and works at the Associated Press as an ENPS News Production Specialist. With a mix of technical know-how and a cool head under pressure, Louise helps journalists throughout the Americas put on television news in English, Spanish and Portuguese. All the travel affords her opportunities to experience the culture - and culinary highlights - of great destinations from California to North Carolina and Mexico to Chile.
