Interviewing Tips - Simplify the process:
The hiring process can be a time-consuming and costly process if it is not done right the first time. Consider using prescreening questions through the Employment@MU hiring system. You have a wide-array of prescreening questions available to you when posting a vacancy. These questions allow you to sort by the candidate's response, which can weighted. Please feel free to contact Angela Nixon, Lynn Mellantine or Chad Mork to learn about this option.
- Consider using phone screening questions to narrow down potential candidates
- Have an updated job description available for the candidate's review
- Be prepared - schedule a day when everyone involved in the hiring process will be available to interview the candidate(s).
- Once your final decision is made, please contact the interviewed candidates. The Employment@Marquette system provides candidates with an automatic email once the position has been filled (for ideas on communicating with interviewed candidates, please see our sample template no-thank you letter). Non-exempt (hourly) candidates will be notified by Human Resources.
