Student call to service

As we welcome Father Pilarz to Marquette and Milwaukee, we ask you to make the pledge to deepen your personal connection to and with the community through service. Find meaning when working alongside peers, neighbors and community partners. You’ll enhance your leadership skills and enhance the community. We are Marquette.

In 2000, Rev. Peter-Hans Kolvenbach, S.J., then-superior general of the Society of Jesus, reminded us that, “The real measure of our Jesuit universities lies in who our students become ... and the adult Christian responsibility they will exercise in the future towards their neighbor and their world” (“The Service of Faith”). As a community rooted in the spiritual heritage of St. Ignatius, we are invited to remain alert about the ways we have been called to respond to our families, friends, colleagues, faith communities and the world — with care and compassion, especially for the poor. Marquette’s Call to Service asks us to engage deeply with each other and the world.
