In a study recently published in the journal Environmental Science and Technology, Dr. Patrick McNamara, assistant professor of engineering, found that an antimicrobial agent commonly found in hard soaps is linked to antibiotic resistance, a growing public health concern. “Antibiotic resistance is a serious health threat,” McNamara said. “These genes are what make superbugs super."
