Every semester, close to 100 Marquette students head off to study in another country. For most of these students the experience is one of the highlights of their undergraduate education. Study abroad is an extraordinary opportunity to immerse oneself in another society and experience its language and culture firsthand. It is a life-changing adventure. By studying abroad for a full year, a semester, or even a few weeks in the summer, you will discover the differences between cultures and the common bonds that tie us all together.
If you are considering studying abroad, you must be mature, self-reliant and open to new experiences and cultures. You should start planning as soon as possible. It is never too early to start planning. The sooner you begin the process, the easier issues such as scheduling, course selection and meeting graduation requirements will be. You can begin by:
* Attending information meetings.
* Talking with students who have studied abroad.
* Discussing your plans with your parents/guardians or significant others.
* Discussing study abroad with your academic advisor.
* Meeting with the staff of the Marquette Office of International Education. Extensive
