Patent Recognition Awards

Criteria and procedure for recognizing inventors named on issued patents/copyright/trademarks

  • Marquette University will recognize current faculty and staff who have carried out research that has resulted in an issued patent and/or registered copyright. The patent(s) must be current and actively held by the university.
  • Students who are named on the above patents will also be recognized at the Patent Recognition Awards.
  • The recognition will be in the form of an Award Certificate.
  • Award Certificates will be given to each of the above patent holders listing all of his/her issued patents.
  • Awards will only be given once per patent.
  • Holders will be invited to present a poster describing their patent/s.

Criteria and procedure for recognizing inventors who are named on filed patent applications/copyright/trademark

  • Current faculty and staff who are named as an inventor on a pending patent application will be invited to present a poster detailing the information of the filed patent application.
  • There should be one poster per filed patent application.
  • Students who are named on the above filed patent applications will also be invited to take part in the poster presentation.
