What is the Microsoft Education Select Program?

This program allows the university to take advantage of volume discount prices on some Microsoft products. Other Microsoft products are centrally funded (site license) through IT Services.
The Microsoft Education Select Program is only for university office and departmental purchases. It not open to personal purchases by students, faculty, administrators or staff — although departments and offices can purchase products for employees' home computers.
What products are included and what do they cost?
To allow departments to maintain the most up-to-date applications available, Marquette has a Campus Agreement (site license) with Microsoft to provide the Microsoft Office Suite to departments. For installation, call the IT Services Help Desk at (414) 288-7799 or e-mail
helpdesk@marquette.edu. The home use option will still apply.
All other Microsoft application programs will continue to be ordered as below.
How do I order Microsoft software?
To obtain the Microsoft Education Select discount when ordering Microsoft software:
- Please complete an Internal Order Form and e-mail the form to the address listed on the form.
- Purchasing will process the order form and forward the install request to the IT Services Help Desk.
- IT Services will then contact you to set up an appointment to install the software. NOTE: The price of the product does not include the media discs or any manuals.
- When purchasing software upgrades, departments will be responsible for providing proof of original purchase.
Can I install Microsoft software at home?
If you purchase Microsoft Office, Microsoft Office Professional, Microsoft Publisher, or Microsoft Project for your office computer, you may install a copy of such product for work-related use on either your home or portable computer. Your office computer must be your primary computer at the university.
Call the IT Services Help Desk at (414) 288-7799 to coordinate receiving the software for you to install on your secondary computer.
