1. In Opinio, choose Publish Survey.


  2. Next, choose Invitations.


  3. Choose the invitation that has the pool of respondents from which you wish to select.


  4. Choose 'Export Invitees'.


  5. Choose 'Responded Invitees'. A file containing the e-mail address of each respondent will be mailed to the e-mail address you provide.


  6. Open the emailed file in Excel. You will need to decompress the file, then import the resulting .txt file into Excel.

  7. In Excel, using Insert Function, add the RAND function in an adjacent cell.


  8. Duplicate the function, so that it exists next to each e-mail address.


  9. In Excel, choose Sort.


  10. Choose Expand the selection.


  11. Choose to Sort by the column where you have added the RAND function (Column A in the example below).


  12. The list of email addresses will now be sorted randomly. You may choose as many random respondents from the top of the list as you need.
