IT Services is updating the Command Information Center by improving Campus Security through Integrated Video Surveillance. The Command Information Center is staffed 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
Features of the new system

The control and alarm system are integrated with closed-circuit video (CCTV) camera system

One officer can quickly and effectively monitor multiple cameras from one fixed location

Increased ability to view CCTV cameras by laying out camera locations on
a map

Viewing of both MU property and non-MU property with exterior pan-tilt-zoom cameras
- Creation of an off-campus wireless mesh network that provides a secure wireless connection so Public Safety officers can access several databases from their vehicles
Implementation Schedule
Phase 1: July 07-October 07
- Creation of the Wireless Mesh
- 4 New exterior cameras
- CIC Room build out
Network upgrades for:
Network Core
Various on-campus buildings
Phase 2: November 07-June 08
- 11 Additional exterior cameras located on and off campus
- Additional network upgrades for additional buildings
- Signage deployed throughout patrol area
Phase 3: July 08-June 09
- Installation of additional cameras
- Completion of additional building network upgrades
