D2L has been upgraded to version 8.2. Existing course content and information has been automatically migrated to the updated version of D2L.
In addition to an overall improved look and feel, issues with the e-mail and the address book functions have been fixed, and the following features have been enhanced.
- DiscussionsCourse discussions provide an opportunity for learner and instructor interaction. Learners can rate their peers’ message postings, allowing incentives for participation and empowering learners to recognize important contributions. Students can create discussion groups. Instructors can grade discussions or assess discussions using rubrics. Discussions can be viewed by date, title, author, and a reader can view all messages in a topic at once rather than one at a time. Topics can be locked down by the instructor.

Gradebook
The new setup wizard streamlines the process of configuring the gradebook, and instructors can customize the grading system for an individual course.
Content
Instructors can create custom content on a home page with an expandable view of content topics. Selected topics can be downloaded to be read offline.

Groups
All group functions are consolidated into one management area, so that instructors can quickly set up group workspaces and assignments. Instructors can preview dropbox submissions, and they can also edit multiple dropbox assignments at once. Students can create group drop boxes for improved collaboration, and they can submit their locker files to the drop box. They can see all the groups they are members of and interact with their peers.

Locker
Students can now search their locker. They can submit assignments from their locker, allowing them to share files with group members using group locker functions.
