Marquette’s legacy PBX (Siemens’ telephone system) infrastructure is near end of life and must undergo a substantial upgrade or replacement. This project will replace the legacy PBX system with Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and incorporate other features of Unified Communications (UC). In addition other features of UC will provide much needed audio and Web conferencing solutions for the University.
Zilber Hall will be the first new building incorporating voice-enabled UC technology.
Four other buildings are scheduled to move to voice-enabled UC this fiscal year:
Eckstein Hall will also use UC.
