Richard J. Fotsch, Eng ’77, Grad ’84, was elected to the
University Board of Trustees in 2004.
He is the principal member of Olde School Industries LLC, a private corporation focused on small entrepreneurial businesses, with holdings in retail hardware, real estate, and technology focused startup ventures.
From 2004 through 2012 he was president of the Kohler Global Power Group, a leader in engines, generators, switchgear, transfer switches and controllers for the residential, small business, marine, industrial, mobile and rental markets worldwide.
Prior to joining Kohler Co., he was president of the engine group at Navistar International Corp. from 2002 to 2004. From 1975 to 2002 he worked for Briggs & Stratton Corp., where he rose within the company through a number of administrative and senior executive positions. He is on the board of directors of the Blood Center of Southeastern Wisconsin.
He earned a bachelor of science degree from Marquette in 1977
and a master’s degree in business administration from Marquette in
1984. He is a former member of the College of Engineering Dean’s
Advisory Council and received the College of Engineering Alumnus of the Year Award in 2003.
He is a member of the Marquette University Archbishop Henni
Founders Society and the Marquette University President’s Society.
