SCOTT A. ROBERTS

Scott A. RobertsScott A. Roberts, Bus Ad ’85, was elected to the Marquette University Board of Trustees in 2013. He serves as president, CEO, and chairman of Ziegler Lotsoff Capital Management (ZLCM). Mr. Roberts has been in the investment management business for over 25 years.

Prior to joining ZLCM, he was president and CIO of Deerfield Capital Management and responsible for all investment management, marketing, and operational activities of the firm. Prior to joining Deerfield Capital, Mr. Roberts was chief investment officer at several Zurich Insurance Company subsidiaries including Scudder Kemper Investments, Zurich Investment Management and Centre Investment Services. Prior to Zurich, Mr. Roberts was a fixed income portfolio manager for Loomis Sayles in Milwaukee. Prior to Loomis Sayles, Mr. Roberts was a senior vice president and portfolio manager for Putnam Investments in Boston.

Mr. Roberts has served on the board of directors of several of the firms with which he has worked, including Centre Cat, Centre Investment Services, Zurich Investment Management, Liberty Hampshire, Deerfield Capital, and Ziegler Lotsoff. Mr. Roberts served as chair of the Investment Committee of Deerfield Triarc Capital Corp, a publicly traded real estate investment trust from 2004 to 2006. Mr. Roberts serves on the boards of Catholic Charities of Chicago, Marquette University High School, and is an emeritus board member at Nativity Jesuit Middle School. Mr. Roberts received an M.B.A. in finance and investments from the Applied Security Analysis Program at the University of Wisconsin at Madison in 1987, and a B.S. in accounting and finance from Marquette University in 1985.

Mr. Roberts lives in Lake Forest, Illinois with his wife, Elizabeth Roberts, Marquette class of 1987, and has four children: Tiffany (MU class of 2010), April, Dane and Rachel. He is a member of the Marquette University President’s Society.
