The library has developed the following policies and asks for your cooperation in adhering to them, as a courtesy to library patrons and employees.
Beverage containers that are secure and spill-proof are permitted in the libraries.
Examples of secure containers:
Banned containers:
May I transport beverages between the bridge and lobby?
Beverages in secure containers may be transported between the library entrance and the bridge.
What do I do if I only have a non-secure container?
Beverages purchased outside the library and transported in non-secure containers must be consumed in the
lobby. Beverages purchased on the bridge in non-secure containers must remain on the bridge.

Please turn cell phone ringers off or set to vibrate as you enter the library.
Food may be eaten on the bridge. Food may not be eaten in either the Memorial or Raynor buildings.
May I transport food?
If you need to bring food to the bridge, it must be in a sealed food container. If possible, it should be
carried inside a book bag, purse, or other appropriate bag. If you wish to purchase food on the bridge
and take it out of the library, please put it in a paper bag, available from the Brew @ the Bridge.

Marquette students without a valid Marquette ID will be allowed admittance into the Raynor Memorial Libraries for two days per semester. Students who reach their two day visit limit will not be allowed into the library without their Marquette ID.
Lockers are available for patron use for 25 cents. They are located on the first floor in recessed alcoves at both ends of the wall behind the Information Desk. The locations are designated by an L on the floorplan.
To use the lockers: Place items inside locker, close door, insert 25-cent coin, and remove key. The coin is not returned when the door is re-opened; to continue use of a locker, another quarter must be inserted.
Locker users are advised that food and beverages may not be stored in the lockers and library materials should be checked out before storing. To ensure compliance, Raynor Circulation Staff may search through the lockers. For the security of future users, a lost key fee of $50 will be assessed to replace both key and lock mechanism. Lockers are maintained by the Raynor Circulation staff. Questions should be directed to that desk or by calling 288-7555.
Our library includes spaces for both group work and quiet study. The open environment and furniture in Raynor encourage conversations, but these conversations need to be at a reasonable volume. Library patrons whose voices seem to be unnecessarily loud will be asked to monitor their voices. Please be aware of those around you and take your conversation to a more private area if needed.
Patrons needing a quiet study environment may use designated quiet study areas in Raynor--located just east of the bridge--or look for quiet areas in Memorial Library. There are six floors in Memorial with tables and study carrels scattered throughout. While there are not currently areas designated for quiet study, you'll find that a number of areas are well-suited for that purpose. For further information about finding your way around Memorial Library, please talk to a library staff member.
