History: The Sisters of St. Joseph of Medaille were founded in France, 1650, and made their first U.S. foundation, 1855. The Congregation of St. Joseph was founded to support its seven founding congregations, 2017-present. A province of one of the seven congregations, the Crookston Province (Crookston, Minnesota) of the Medaille Congregation, has staffed St. Mary Mission School (Ojibwa and Métis), Turtle Mountain Reservation, Dunseith, North Dakota, 1945-present.

Description: Primarily general correspondence between provincial coordinators, local coordinators of the Sisters of St. Joseph, the bishop of Fargo, the Pallottines at St. Mary Church and the provincial of the Pallottine Mother of God Province (Milwaukee, Wisconsin). Also included is a petition to the Pallottines delegate requesting permission to minister at St. Mary Mission, an agreement between St. Louis Church, Dunseith, North Dakota, and the Pallottines, and plans for a new mission center and convent.
