History: Raleigh was erected as the Vicariate Apostolate of North Carolina and renamed the Diocese of Raleigh, 1924; territory was added, 1944; and territory was lost to the Diocese of Charlotte, 1971. Raleigh founded a diocesan Kateri Circle for Native American ministry, 2004, and has served the following parishes with some Native American parishioners:
