History: The Diocese of Burlington was erected for Vermont, 1853, from territory in the Diocese of Boston. In 1980, the Burlington Diocese estimated its Native Catholic population at 300. In so doing, it noted the historical Native American-French Canadian affinity without identifying specific parishes in which they were members.

Holdings of Catholic records about Native Americans: Unknown. However, the archival holdings should include sacramental records for Native Catholics (e.g. Abenaki Indians), 19th century-present.

Unless otherwise noted, the repository on this page holds (or held) the records described here and they are not held at the Marquette University Archives.
