CONTENTdm Commenting Policy

The Department of Special Collections and University Archives uses the CONTENTdm platform to present selected historical resources to the public. We invite comments, particularly those that add to our knowledge and understanding of the events and individuals depicted in the items displayed in our eArchives portal. We ask users to share comments in a polite and courteous manner and to treat one another with respect. This site is intended as a safe place to present items of historical interest and to share information about these items.

When commenting, please be aware that the Department of Special Collections and University Archives reserves the right to delete any comments that do not comply with our Comment Policy. Comments that may be removed include the following:

• Comments that are not related to the collections, services, or programs of the department
• Comments that are abusive, obscene, vulgar, or profane
• Comments that threaten, harass, or attack a person, organization, or group
• Comments that are clearly off-topic or irrelevant
• Comments that include personal information, such as social security numbers, telephone numbers, or addresses
• Comments that promote or oppose any political party or person campaigning for elected office
• Advertisements, solicitations, and spam

The content of all comments is immediately released to the public, so please do not submit anything that you do not wish to be broadcast to the general public.


Users warrant that they own or have permission to post the information contained in their postings, including but not limited to video, photos, or digital reproductions and that no copyright or trademark infringement has taken place due to posting it on this site.
