INDEX TO NOTABLE AUTHORS AND PHOTOGRAPHERS AMONG THE JESUITS AND SISTERS OF ST. FRANCIS

The photography, papers, and recordings by and of many Jesuits and Sisters of St. Francis are fragmented and co-mingled among multiple collections, which reflects where the documents were located prior to their transfer to Marquette University. As an aid to navigating the collections and understanding these notable persons, this chart provides names, birth/death years, and the years they were assigned to specific Indian ministries:

Diocese of Rapid City, South Dakota -- Mother Butler Center and St. Isaac Jogues Church, Rapid City and/or Sioux Spiritual Center, Howes/Plainview

Pine Ridge Reservation, South Dakota -- Holy Rosary Mission/Red Cloud Indian School and/or the Pine Ridge Reservation Catholic parishes

Rosebud Reservation, South Dakota -- St. Francis Mission and School and/or the Rosebud Reservation Catholic parishes

Wind River Reservation, Wyoming -- St. Stephen's Mission and School and/or the Wind River Reservation Catholic parishes
