Johnston Hall

Marquette College (photograph ca. 1881-1907)

Opened in 1881, Marquette College was located on the corner of N. 10th and W. State Streets.   For a quarter of a century this building served both Marquette Academy (grades 9-12) and Marquette College.  Following the completion of Johnston Hall, the academy remained at the original location and the college moved into its new home next to Gesu Church.
