| " ... When I close my
eyes I see this beautiful Indian girl ... that`s Kateri. And way back there, its a light
and the light is the Father Spirit ... a bright light. That`s what I see when I pray,
close my eyes and pray. And Kateri is the one that`s praying for me. She`s the one that`s
laying her hands on me. And I`m praying for the well-being of my family, my children, my
grandchildren, my people in the pueblo, all my friends and everybody that asked me to pray
for them ... I talk to her all the time ... I even have a conversation with her sometimes
I`m cooking or doing something. `Kateri, how shall I do this?`... And if I spend a special
time ... I`d say the rosary, the Kateri rosary. And that`s the time when I really just
hold my rosary and just pray to her. I have my Kateri rosary and that`s what I`m trying to
teach all the other women to do ... because it`s a really a good thing to do."
