Teaching and Study Resources

America's First Nations Curricula:   Classroom-tested curricula about Native Americans with reproducible copies of primary source documents from Marquette University and elsewhere. These materials were created by select teacher-scholars who participated in America's First Nations: American Indians in Social Studies Curricula, a summer 2000 teacher institute hosted by Marquette University and funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities.
Catholic Directories: Describes the department's holdings of national Catholic directories for Canada, Mexico, and the United States and Jesuit province catalogs worldwide since the 19th century. Also available is an index to the U.S. directories, which includes appended historical information on the Catholic Church in over 50 countries.
Guides to Catholic-Related Records about Native Americans in the United States: The guides contain over 1,000 repository entries in PDF format, which provide contact information on the churches and repositories that hold these records, brief descriptions about records, and identification of the Native groups represented and the related Catholic organizations involved. Many of the entries include institutional chronologies to explain the history of the records. Genealogists, historians, and others with historical research needs will find the guides to be especially helpful.
