The collection of the Marquette University Libraries contains over 260,000 volumes of books, bound periodicals, and electronic media in the life, health, physical, and technological sciences in addition to more than 900,000 volumes in the social sciences and humanities. |
Collection Strengths |
Raynor Library has approximately 1,200 current serial subscriptions in the life and health sciences,
including many of the most highly cited journals in these disciplines. The life sciences book
collection includes over 54,000 volumes, encompassing all areas of cellular and molecular biology,
genetics, microbiology, biochemistry, anatomy, physiology, botany, and zoology. There are an
additional 58,000 volumes in the health sciences collection. Primary emphases of the collections
are genetics, molecular biology and neurosciences.Electronic ResourcesElectronic titles are rapidly being added, with more than 1300 journals in the life and health sciences and more than 500 biology e-books. Access to MARQCAT, the Marquette University Libraries catalog, as well as to other library catalogs is available via the Library's homepage. An extensive collection of Internet sites arranged by subject is also available from the Libraries' website. Computers for browsing the Internet are available in the Libraries, and any computer connected to the campus network also has access to these resources. Convenient remote access is available to Marquette users. |
