This database is actually four separate databases linked together:
- Business Index: an index to 1300+ business and trade journals; approximately
half of the journals are full-text beginning in 1993. Emphasis is on trade magazines and journals.
- Investext: a database of financial investment reports on both individual public
companies and industries. To retrieve the industry reports, use the 'Advanced search'; go into the
SIC Descriptions (instead of directly into Investext), find the appropriate
SIC code and follow the link "Investment reports about this industry."
- Company ProFiles: a directory of approximately 180,000 public and private
companies.
- SIC Descriptions: an electronic version of the SIC Manual.
