'Standard' Software, Hardware, and Accessories

The 'Standard' computer cluster has the software, hardware and accessories listed below. They are located in the gray blue color coded areas in the floor plans above.

Laptops: In addition to the desktop 'Standard' PC's, the laptops also have this Standard list of software, with one exception: they do not have the cd-rom reference database client software. (Laptops are available for check-out at the Class Reserve Media Services desk.)

  • Adobe Acrobat Reader
  • Adobe Photoshop Elements
  • CD burning / writing with Easy CD Creator or Nero Express
  • CD-Rom reference database client software
  • Easy CD Creator for cd burning on most Standard desktop PCs. (Nero Express is on computer clusters 2A, 2C, 2D and M2; RecordNow! is on the laptops.)
  • EViews
  • File Transfer Protocol; FTP
  • Firefox (a freeware web browser)
  • FTP; File transfer protocol (WS FTP LE)
  • Internet Explorer
  • Nero Express for cd burning on computer clusters 2A, 2C, 2D and M2. (Easy CD Creator is on all other Standard desktop stations; the laptops have RecordNow!.)
  • Netscape
  • Netscape Composer
  • Office 2003 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Access)
  • Photoshop Elements
  • RecordNow! for cd burning on the laptops. (Nero Express is on computer clusters 2A, 2C, 2D and M2; Easy CD Creator is on all other Standard desktop computers.)
  • Scanner: the machines in the M2 area of Memorial level 2 share access to a networked, large flatbed scanner (Epson GT-10000+).  Click here for a description of the scanner stations available in Raynor (they have more software programs).
  • SPSS
  • USB ports (for flash drives, etc.)
  • WS FTP LE (file transfer protocol software)

For memory card readers, Zip drives, or network and video cables, please ask at the Raynor Circulation Desk.
For headphones, please ask at the Reserves Desk.
