5th Annual Mardi Gras Children's Parade

February 28, 2006 --Thank you! Thank you!

The Libraries' 5th annual Mardi Gras celebration produced the largest turnout yet.  The fundraiser lunch following the parade raised $225 for the Marquette University Multiple Sclerosis Walk-A-Thon team, the Street Walkers.

About 45 children and chaperones from the Krueger Child Center marched in the parade on Raynor's 2nd floor and across the Bridge, then retired to the staff lounge for snacks and juice.  Book truck "floats," were created by the Writing Center, Interlibrary Loan, Archives, and Research & Outreach Services.  Library staff members of the "Secret Chefs Society" contributed a fabulous lunch of voodoo chili, jambalaya, and muffuletta sandwiches.  Thanks to all who joined the festivities and raised $225 for the fight against MS.
