Enhancements or Change of Interface

Dissertations and Theses has migrated to a new ProQuest platform allowing users to cross-search dissertations along with other ProQuest databases.

Index Thomisticus  Containing the complete works of St. Thomas Aquinas and responses from other noted theologians, this new Web-based version replaces CD-ROM, thus allowing access from outside of the library.

NetLibrary launched new site architecture; the most noticeable change is that users no longer need to check out digital books-- the "view" function allows users to access a copy of a title on a rolling 15-minute basis as long as they are active in reading the title.  Marquette now owns over 8,000 NetLibrary digital books thanks to a Wisconsin academic library consortium; all NetLibrary books are listed and linked in MARQCAT; choose the "Browse New Titles" option to see a list of NetLibrary books added in the previous month. See a new NetLibrary demo/tutorial.

Project MUSE has implemented RSS feeds for all (nearly 300) journals in MUSE.  The RSS feed is an alert tool that links to tables of contents and provides users with instant notification about news, updates, and additions to titles in the MUSE collection.&nbps; RSS joins MUSE's long-standing e-mail journal alert service.  Both offer a way for researchers to keep current with their favorite journals. More about RSS.

Web of Science has announced new tools for better refining searches and new links to full text of article from cross searches ("CrossSearch"); also, 2005 data is now available for Journal Citation Reports (JCR) for Science and Social Science.

Women Writers Online, a full-text collection of pre-Victorian women's writing in English, has a new search engine, new search features, and over a dozen new authors.

To review all library-licensed electronic databases, see the complete lists, both alphabetical and by 80 academic and general subjects.
