Jean Zanoni Appointed Associate Dean |

January 2008—Following a
national search, Jean Zanoni has been named associate dean of libraries effective January 1.
Prior to accepting the associate dean position, Zanoni was head of bibliographic control at the Marquette
University Libraries from 1994-2007, and head of cataloging at University of Wisconsin—Milwaukee’s
Golda Meir Library from 1991-1994, after working as a cataloger and cataloging coordinator there for
several years. She is also an adjunct instructor in the School of Information Studies at
UWM. Zanoni earned both a bachelor of arts in history and a master of arts in library and
information studies at University of Wisconsin—Madison.
As associate dean of libraries, Zanoni will be responsible for the oversight of human resources; assisting with strategic and long range planning; supervision of assessment initiatives; coordination of grant writing and pursuit of external funding; and participating in resource allocation planning and decision making. About her new position, she says, "I am thrilled to have this opportunity to serve Marquette University students, faculty, and staff in a new role and to assist Dean Janice Simmons-Welburn and the library staff as we continue to improve and expand our services and resources to best meet the needs of library users." |
