Award-winning photographer Don Doll, S.J., has donated his color transparencies, prints, and oral history interviews gathered for his book, Vision Quest: Men, Women, and Sacred Sites of the Sioux Nation (Random House/Crown, 1994). Also The National Black Sisters' Conference recently donated an extensive collection of historical records, dating to its founding in 1968. | MILESTONES |
Late Night Hours Prove Popular: During finals week, Raynor's turnstiles registered just under 26,000 entrances! Students found all Raynor and Memorial seating areas welcoming, but with their recent aesthetic improvements, both Memorial reading rooms filled up quickly every day. Scores of students used the new seating arrangements every hour, proof that providing a warm and comfortable study environment increases the desire to study! |
Memorial Remodeling Nearly Complete: The final remodeling projects in Memorial are winding down. For instance, new signage was installed in January, making the building easier to navigate. Collections, doors, elevators, and staircases are now clearly marked. Comfortable, new faculty carrels were installed on the 5th floor balcony and a few vacancies remain for both faculty and graduate students. Please see the carrel policy and application form for more details. Coming soon, lockers in Raynor!

| LIBRARY STAFF MAKING A DIFFERENCE |
Raynor Memorial Library staff held their fourth annual holiday fund drive for two community agencies—and raised a record-breaking $1,400. The project, dubbed the Secret Chef, features volunteers who bring home-made soup (12-16 quarts each day), bread & butter, desserts, and bowls for three weeks in December. The project brings together hungry staff, who contribute a freewill donation for lunch, while fostering a sense of community by supporting the mission of Marquette neighborhood agencies, Casa Maria Hospitality House and Milwaukee Rescue Mission. Finding a novel way to “”Be The Difference.”
