"The Transition in Scholarly Communication"

February 2012--All faculty and graduate students are invited to coffee, cookies, and a discussion, led by Digital Projects Librarian Ann Hanlon: "The Transition in Scholarly Communication: Scholarship in the Age of the Internet." The informative session will include

• open access to research;
• alternative business models for scholarly publishing;
• alternative measures of research impact;
• the newly introduced Research Works Act and the modified Federal Research Public Access Act;
• and the context of e-Publications@Marquette amidst all this activity.

Two dates have been scheduled in order to accommodate faculty schedules; choose the date that best fits your calendar.

February 29 (Wednesday), 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
March 5 (Monday), 2:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Both discussions will be held in the Conference Center, Beaumier Suite A, on the lower level of Raynor Library. Faculty are welcome to encourage graduate student participation.
