May 2014 -- The Haggerty Museum of Art has made recent changes to the art work displayed on the second level of Raynor Library.
Wilhelm Lamprecht's painting "Pere Marquette and the Indians" (1869) is currently on loan to Loyola University for an upcoming exhibition. In its location on the second level of Raynor the Museum has placed a hand embellished giclee entitled "Joan of Arc Chapel" painted in 2005 by Wisconsin artist Lynn Casper.
An Art History graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Ms. Casper is a fifth generation Wisconsinite whose ancestors settled in Madison in 1848. With more than 70 limited edition prints available in the Casper Collector's Series, her many commissions include paintings for both Milwaukee and Waukesha County Sesquicentennials and the 75th anniversary of the Wisconsin Capitol. Her painting "Evening Reflections on the Capitol Square - 1917" was showcased in the Governor's Conference Room of the Capitol for the duration of the State's 150th anniversary year. She was also this year's featured artist for the Channel 10 Great TV Auction
