Raynor Memorial Libraries welcomes new librarians

Portrait of new staffKatie Blank joins Special Collections and University Archives as Electronic Records Manager. Katie served as the Associate Special Librarian and Archival Studies Program Assistant at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee School of Information Studies. She earned her Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) degree and both her B.A. and M.A. degrees in History from UW-Milwaukee.

Mary Rieder joins the Libraries' Resource Management team as Coordinator of Acquisition and Discovery Services. Mary is the former Director of Library Support Services for the University of Wisconsin Colleges. She has held positions at Marian University of Fond du Lac and the Milwaukee School of Engineering. Mary earned her B.S. in History and Library Science from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and her MLIS from UW-Milwaukee.

Elizabeth Andrejasich Gibes is an Assistant Librarian for Research and Instructional Services, providing reference and library instruction to undergraduate students and collection development to English. She is the coordinator of both the Libraries' Digital Media Studio and information literacy instruction for Marquette's First-Year English Program, designed to help students develop reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills through critical literacy. Elizabeth joins us from Berry College in Rome, GA where she was an instructional services librarian. Previously, Elizabeth attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where she earned her M.S. in Library and Information Science.

Rob Nunez is the newly-appointed Emerging Technologies Librarian. He supports the Libraries' website development efforts, provides collection development for the department of Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science, and provides technology support in the Libraries' Digital Media Studio. Rob comes to Marquette from UW-Milwaukee where he was Lead Web Developer for the School of Information Studies. As well, Rob earned both his B.S. in Information Science and Technology and his MLIS degree from UW-Milwaukee.

Emily Laws has been with the Libraries for two years. She began her career at Marquette as an intern in the Libraries' Digital Programs department and became a permanent part of the staff upon earning her MLIS degree from UW-Milwaukee. Emily is an Assistant Librarian and the Coordinator of Marketing and Outreach for the Libraries. She provides library instruction and collection development for the departments of Communication Studies, Journalism, Media Studies, and Corporate Communication within the Diederich College of Communication.
