Indexes over 800 titles including major law reviews, legal newspapers, bar association journals and international legal journals.  Also, indexes law-related articles from more than 1,000 additional business and general interest titles.  Selected full text from over 170 newspapers and magazines is also included.  1980 to present.

Congressional Masterfile  from Congressional Information Service picture of CD-ROM

Congressional Masterfile 1 indexes five major categories of U.S. congressional publications: congressional reports, published and unpublished hearings, documents, committee prints, and Senate executive reports and documents.  Covers 1789-1969.

 
Dissertations and Theses   from ProQuest  

This database contains records for more than 2 million doctoral dissertations and master's theses.  Also included is the full text content for nearly 900,000 dissertations.  Includes extensive coverage of North American graduate schools, with coverage of some European universities beginning in 1989.  A separate database contains the subset of Marquette University doctoral dissertations in full text.

 
ECOLEX  from Ecolex  

World's largest environmental law database developed by combining resources of the legal libraries of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the World Conservation Union (IUCN), and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).  Includes information on treaties, international soft-law and other non-binding policy and technical guidance documents, national legislation, judicial decisions, and law and policy literature.  Users have direct access to the abstracts and indexing information about each document, as well as to the full text of most of the information provided.  Coverage varies, some documents are from the 1800's.

Hein-On-Line   from Hein  

A collaborative project between the William S. Hein Company, Cornell Information Technologies and the Cornell University Law Library Hein-On-Line provides retrospective full-text/image access to nearly 300 law reviews.  Coverage varies by journal.

 
Historic Documents   from CQ Press  

Reviewing each year’s major events since 1972, Historic Documents reproduces official public statements; noteworthy court decisions; reports by governmental agencies, including some from the United Nations; special studies by public and private groups; and speeches by prominent figures.  The documents have introductions providing background, a summary, and indication of subsequent events.  The online version can be searched by keyword, title, and topic.  There is also a cumulative index.

 
Issues and Controversies@Facts.com  from Facts On File  

This full-text database contains in-depth and balanced articles dealing with contemporary issues and controversies.  Keyword and subject searching is available as well as being able to browse by topic.  A list of current hot topics is provided.  This resource (in addition to CQ Researcher) is an EXCELLENT starting point for research on contemporary topics.  September 25, 1995 to present.

 
Lexis Nexis Academic   from Lexis Nexis  Search Tips  

Features a rich variety of full text sources providing up-to-date information on current events, business, law, and medicine.  It includes regional, national, and international newspapers; magazines; wire services; business publications (trade journals, corporate annual reports, tax sources); legal resources (law reviews, court cases, briefs, federal and state codes); government documents; medical information (medical journals); and reference sources (directories, biographical information).  Coverage varies by title; very good coverage from the early 1990s to present, with some coverage as early as the mid-1970s.

 
Lexis Nexis Congressional (formerly Congressional Universe)  from Lexis Nexis   Search Tips  

Includes text and status of Congressional bills; information about members of Congress and their districts, text of prepared statements before Congressional hearings, text of National Journal articles, and text of Congressional Record and Federal Register.  Analysis of appropriate bills gives information about relevant public policies. Click on "Publications" button to get online version of CIS/Index.  Index coverage is 1970 to present.  Full text coverage varies.

 
LLMC Digital   from LLMC  

Core publications from the executive, judicial, and legislative branches are represented, including the U.S. Statutes at Large, Official Opinions of the Attorneys General of the United States, and Decisions of the United States Department of the Interior.  Material from over fourteen states is currently available, and ranges from Michigan house and senate journals to California Supreme Court and Appellate Reports.  Key legal reference works in Anglo-American law, such as the Century Edition of the American Digest, are represented, as are secondary sources such as legal periodicals and case reporters.  International law sections include primary and secondary legal materials from countries as varied as Great Britain, Canada and India.  Coverage is primarily historical, reflecting the consortium's focus on historical legal and government publications.  While some of these publications may be available in print or microfiche in libraries, particularly federal and state depository libraries in the United States, electronic versions are in many cases unique to LLMC Digital.  Also includes other material of significant interest to historical researchers and students, such as the constitutions and bylaws relating to Native American tribes, is also available.  As the collection develops it should include more publications with an appeal beyond the legal and academic communities.  Multi-jurisdictional collections relating to the British Empire, Native Americans, and Military Law are particularly promising.  Coverage varies by document.

 
The Making of Modern Law   from Gale  

The Making of Modern Law is the result of digitizing Nineteenth Century Legal Treatises and Twentieth Century Legal Treatises collections.  It includes nearly 10 million pages of legal history from America and Britain in more than 21,000 works from casebooks, local practice manuals, form books, works for lay readers, pamphlets, letters, speeches and more - separated into 99 subject areas.  Individual titles are linked in MARQCAT.

 
Policy Central   from National Journal Group  

A multi-dimensional resource on politics and policy.&nbps; It includes the full text of the National Journal, The Hotline, The Congressional Daily, The Almanac of American Politics, Markup Reports & Bill Status, The Technology Daily, Ad Spotlight and Poll Track.  These sources provide a daily news briefing on politics and poling data, a guide to political/special issue ads, information about congressional hearings, updates on important news and trends in information technology politics and policy.

 
ProQuest Research Library   from ProQuest  

Indexing, abstracts and selected full text or full images of articles in a wide range of magazines and journals.  It includes general interest and news publications as well as selected scholarly journals.  Includes bibliographic citations and abstracts of periodical articles; some full text and full image articles.  Coverage varies by title with good coverage for late 1980's to present, some earlier coverage.
