Multidisciplinary database providing full-text access to global information on women’s issues and gender studies.  Extensive international coverage from 190 countries (all material is in English) is provided from mainstream periodicals and the alternative press, including journals, newsletters, research reports, governmental agencies, non-profit groups, and pamphlets.  1992 to present.

 
GenderWatch   from ProQuest  Search Tips  

Full text database composed primarily of the many ongoing periodicals that focus on women and women's issues, including academic and scholarly journals, regional publications, magazines, newspapers, newsletters, booklets and reports.  GenderWatch contains a significant body of archival material, in some cases as far back as 1974.

Academic Search Complete   from EBSCO  

Provides full text for over 7,000 journals covering the social sciences, humanities, general science, multi-cultural studies, education and much more.  Coverage varies by publication.  Some full-text PDFs from 1985 to present.

 
Defining Gender, 1450-1910   from Adam Matthew Pubs.  

Database of primary sources dating between 1450 and 1910 copied largely from research libraries in Great Britain.  Primarily "advice literature," the sources address such themes as household management, education, leisure, shopping, sexuality, consumption, and sports.  The material is arranged thematically, along with essays by leading scholars.  The database is in five segments.  Defining Gender includes indexing that directs researchers to larger holdings of similar literature available on microform.  VPN required for off-campus access.

 
DIRLINE (Directory of Health Organizations)  from National Institutes of Health  

Provides approximately 10,000 records with location and descriptive information for government agencies, information and referral centers, professional societies, self-help groups, and academic and research institutions in health and biomedicine.  Topics include maternal and child health, diseases and conditions, and health services research and technology assessment.  Current information only.

 
Dissertations and Theses   from ProQuest  

This database contains records for more than 2 million doctoral dissertations and master's theses.  Also included is the full text content for nearly 900,000 dissertations.  Includes extensive coverage of North American graduate schools, with coverage of some European universities beginning in 1989.  Includes bibliographic record of dissertations written in the United Kingdom and Ireland from as far back as 1716, with full abstracts, for titles available from 1986 in 'ProQuest Dissertations and Theses.  A separate database contains the subset of Marquette University doctoral dissertations in full text.

 
Ethnic NewsWatch   from ProQuest  

Indexes and provides full text articles from newspapers and magazines published for ethnic communities in the U.S. Some material is in Spanish. Includes publications for African Americans, European Americans, Hispanic and Latino Americans, Native Americans, Asian Americans, Jewish Americans, and Arab Americans.  1991 to present.

Journal Citation Reports - Science & Social Sciences  from ISI  

This unique multidisciplinary resource presents quantifiable statistical data that provides a systematic way to determine the relative importance of journals within their subject categories, including highest impact journals, most frequently used journals, ‘hottest’ journals, and largest journals. The "Science" portion covers about 5,000 leading international science journals from ISI database and the "Social Science" portion covers 1700 leading journals from Social Science Citation Index.  Basic information about each journal is also included, e.g. publisher, frequency, title changes, subject categories assigned, etc.  Covers 2004 to 2006.  VPN recommended for off-campus access.

 
LGBT Life with Full Text   from EBSCO  

Contains all of the content available in LGBT Life as well as full text for more than 120 LGBT journals, magazines and regional newspapers, as well as more than 140 full-text monographs/books.

 
Medieval Sources online   from Manchester Univ. Press  

Includes full text (pdf) of books in their series, Manchester Medieval Sources.  Topics include the Normans, the Black Death, Catholic England and other theological subjects, women, Merovingian France, the reign of Richard II, and the annals of St-Bertin and Fulda.  Covers medieval studies from medieval studies from c. 600s to 1600.

 
NLM Gateway   from National Institutes of Health  

Provides a single interface for searching multiple resources from the National Library of Medicine including Medline, Old Medline, LOCATORplus (NLM's online catalog), and Medlineplus.  Includes bibliographic citations and abstracts of journal articles; NLM catalog records for books, journals and audiovisual materials; meeting abstracts on AIDS/HIV; and consumer information on health conditions and medications.  Journal citations are available from 1958 to the present.

ProQuest Central  from ProQuest  

Multidisciplinary database with 11,000+ titles, with over 8,000 titles in full-text.  It serves as the central resource for researchers at all levels in all markets.  Over 160 subjects areas are covered extensively including business and economics, health and medical, news and world affairs, technology, social sciences and more.

 
ProQuest Research Library   from ProQuest  

Indexing, abstracts and selected full text or full images of articles in a wide range of magazines and journals.  It includes general interest and news publications as well as selected scholarly journals.  Includes bibliographic citations and abstracts of periodical articles; some full text and full image articles.  Coverage varies by title with good coverage for late 1980's to present, some earlier coverage.

 
Sociological Abstracts   from CSA  

Covers research in sociology and related disciplines.  Sociofile indexes over 2000 journals from about 55 countries, providing bibliographic citations and abstracts for the journal articles.  1974 to present.

 
Substance Abuse and Mental Health Data Archive (SAMHDA)  from I.C.P.S.R.
