Words Search

A Words search is a good option for finding books on a topic. This search will retrieve all the records in the catalog that contain each of the words you entered as your search topic. If there are no items in the catalog for which the record contains ALL of the words you included, the catalog will automatically perform a second search looking for the occurrence of ANY of the words on their own.

Use a Words search when you:

  • are doing a preliminary search and need ideas for additional search terms
  • need to combine two or more concepts
  • are searching for a phrase
  • want to see what is available in the library on your topic
