Where to Find a Book or Journal

Use information from the MARQCAT record of a book or journal to either:

  1. find its physical location in the library, or
  2. connect to a digital version online

Status: The status line will tell you whether a book is available, checked out, or has recently been ordered. Journals cannot be checked out.

Electronic versions: These can be accessed by using the hotlinks located towards the middle of the page.

Location: Check the information in the location box to find out which of the Marquette libraries has the book or journal.

Call Number: Write down the call number. It acts as the "address" of an item in the library. To find out which floor to go to in Memorial Library you can:

  • Use one of the beige library bookmarks that shows the call number range for each floor, or
  • Ask at a Reference Desk, or
  • Use the call number location guide or floor maps on the library Web pages.
